Why are an increasing number of democracies becoming weaker and more autocratic? And what challenges does democracy face in our own country?

At UiO:Democracy, research is conducted on institutions, practices, participation. inequalities, crisis management and the role of knowledge in democracy.

What characterises Norway and the Nordic countries in an international context? What is the 'Nordic model,' and is it sustainable?

UiO:Nordic provides us with new knowledge about Norway and the Nordics, with critical perspectives on the sustainability and development potential of Nordic models and institutions.
