UiO is offering more and more teaching programs by academics from more than one discipline. Whether called interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, or transdisciplinary teaching, these programs are designed to prepare students to draw on more than one discipline in their research or work. In this SnakkOm, we will discuss some key questions related to such teaching
- What do we mean by interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary?
- How can we help students integrate knowledge, skill, and purpose from different disciplines in such programs?
- What pedagogies can we use to teach collaboration across disciplines?
The seminar will start with a brief presentation by Molly Sutphen from LINK. We will then proceed to discussions with each other about teaching and learning in such programs.
