SPARK Social Innovation Educational Forum: How do I turn this ON?

SPARK Social Innovation invites you to a talk by Helga M. Br?gger and Oleg Agafonov from DNV Healthcare. In this talk, they will shed light on what to consider when adopting AI-based tools into clinical practice.

SPARK Social Innovation

Artificial intelligence (AI) has great potential to transform healthcare, making it more efficient, equitable, and safe. To be able to use an AI-based tool in clinical settings it has to go through the regulatory approval process (CE marking). This process is not easy to navigate and can take a significant amount of time and resources.

Regulatory approval does not guarantee the adoption of a tool in clinics - hundreds of AI-based tools have received regulatory approval, nevertheless, only a few get adopted into clinical practice because of numerous barriers and challenges.

In this talk, researchers from the DNV Healthcare research program will talk about the main steps of the regulatory approval process, adoption challenges and ways to overcome those.

DNV is an independent assurance and risk management provider, operating in more than 100 countries globally. The Healthcare Research Programme is part of the Group Research and Development at DNV and works with partners through large-scale public-private research and innovation projects to address the data-sharing and infrastructure needs, legal and regulatory challenges, and gaps in trust that prevent the clinical implementation of precision medicine, AI, and new digital technologies.
