Notes and videos for digital lectures

Starting March 30th, lectures are going digital. I will post hand-written notes that are essentially what the blackboards would look like, along with pre-recorded videos where I talk you through them. The expected progress can be seen from the weekly schedule (timeplan), and weekly problems will match this progress.

Week 10 (30/3 - 3/4)

Notes for lectures on ODEs: series expansion and Frobenius method, week 10 (30/3 - 3/4)

Notes for lectures on Fourier series, week 10 (30/3-3/4) and week 11 (14-17/4)

Video: ODEs, power series expansion

Video: ODEs, Frobenius method

Video: Fourier series part 1

Week 11 (14-17/4)

Notes: Last part of the above notes on Fourier series (starting from "Other basic intervals")

Notes for lectures on Fourier transforms

Video: Fourier series part 2

Video: Fourier transforms

Week 12 (20-24/4)

Notes for lectures on Laplace transforms

Video: Laplace transforms part 1 (until and including s-shifting)

Video: Laplace transforms part 2 (t-shifting till end)

Week 13 (27-30/4)

Notes for lectures on PDEs I: Separation of variables, Cartesian coordinates (Boas 13.2-13.4)

Video: Separation of variables, 1D wave equation

Video: Heat flow equation, 2D wave equation, 2D Laplace equation

NB! This division of material into weeks 13 and 14 is a suggestion. Feel free to start working on the material for week 14 already this week, as it is closely related.

Week 14 (4-8/5)

Notes for lectures on PDEs II: Non-Cartesian coordinates, solution by integral transform (Boas 13.5.13.7 and 13.9) and Orthogonal functions (posted lecture note)

Video: Non-Cartesian coordinates

Video: Solution by integral transform. Orthogonal functions.
