Oral exam in FYS3240/4240 on Zoom spring 2020
You can log in to the exam room 2-3 minutes prior to your scheduled time, if you want. The room is open between Tuesday at 09:00 and Thursday at 16:00, so you can also test the connection outside the scheduled exams in this period if you want.

The lab assignments that can be done from home are also mandatory before the exam. For bachelor students (FYS3240) there is one such assignment (lab number 2) and for master students (FYS4240) there are two assignments (labs number 2 and 3).
As soon as you have done the required labs, send me an e-mail (ogm<at>fys.uio.no) to inform me that this has been done.
You need to finish the labs and send this e-mail to me no later than Friday May 29 at 12:00 noon. Please note that this deadline is absolute - if you miss the deadline, you will not have the possibility to take the exam.
Together with the lecture notes, you will now find a list of the main questions that will be given at the oral exam. There may be follow-up questions from these, but these are nevertheless the main questions that will be posed.
As it is not possible to arrange written school exams this spring due to the corona-situation it is decided that the final exam in FYS3240 will be conducted as an oral exam. The exam will be conducted digitally via the videoconference platform zoom due to the corona-situation. You will receive further practical information regarding the exam after Easter.
The course will be graded Passed/Fail, in adherence to the guidelines for examinations at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the spring semester of 2020. The guidelines are published here: https://www.mn.uio.no/english/about/hse/corona/examination-2020.html

We have today started to post lecture videos. Se under "Resources" on the right side of this page. More videos will be added.
All lab work in FYS3240/4240 is currently suspended and any given deadlines are not valid anymore. We will return with more information during the next days.
Because of the Corona virus, all teaching has now been cancelled at UiO. We will therefore from now on offer the lectures as videos available on the course website and/or Canvas. We will post more information here as soon as the first video is available on the web.
Lab 1 continues through next week. There will be no supervision in the lab on the coming Wednesday (Feb. 19).
Please remember that there is no lecture this week. Use the time to work on the mandatory assignments.
The main hours for lab work are Monday and Wednesday @ 8:00 - 12:00 in room FV329. You can work outside these hours dependent on availability. Please start this week with lab 0. Team up two-and-two and deliver reports together. More information will be provided by the lab supervisors.
