Former exams in FYS3710 for 2012-2017 can be found in the sharepoint folder Gruppe og ukeoppgaver.   Unfortunately the texts are in Norwegian. Sorry!  English versions will be posted when/if they get ready.

PLEASE note that the curriculum for FYS3700/FYS4700 is different from FYS3710.  Skip the FYS3710 problems which sounds completely 'unfamiliar' - and remember that e.g. physiology, imaging and bioimpedance are new topics this year.

Friday is the last day of 'ordinary' teaching. Don't miss it...

The first hour will be spent on your 'homework' and radiation physics / dosimetry problem solving.

Between 11:00 and 11:30 you will be guided through the EPR/NMR problems from Problem set P6.

The last 30 minutes (11:30-12:00) most of the lecturers will be present to answer questions.

The Friday group work this week (final session) will be a standard session in addition to the possibility to ask questions regarding the course curriculum for the last 30 minutes.

Exercises in medical imaging and impedance for this Friday are available at the Sharepoint.

Lectures this week will be on medical imaging. Ingerid will present on X-ray based imaging tomorrow tuesday, and Eirik will talk about MRI wednesday. You will have slides and supporting material available soon!

Regarding exam date, this is set to Nov 28th and cannot be changed (although we tried). Thus, we have decided that the last lectures will be in week 46 (i.e. next week). On Friday 16th, there will be a last set of exercises.

We expect one common report (including both exercises), which is to be sent to the course manager (Eirik) within Friday November 2. In the report, describe the purpose of the exercise, what you did to get the results (short on setup and measurements), presentation of results (numbers/tables/figures) and data analysis. Also include a short discussion of the results. For each lab, we expect 2-4 pages of report. Report will be approved as soon as possible. Those with non-approved reports (if any) will get a second chance to improve. PS. For those who took the cell lab, note the new protocol in the Sharepoint folder.

The final (written) exam will be given in both English and Norwegian.

You may answer in either Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.

Soultions to some of the week problems (Radioactivity and Radiation Physics/P2, and NMR and EPR spectroscopy/P6) are now available in the sharepoint folder under \FYS3700_material\Gruppe og Ukeoppgaver .

Unfortunately they are written in Norwegian....  Sorry!

A new Problem set  (P7) about Radiobiology is waiting for you.

If not already done so, register for the labs  in the Doodle you got from Eirik!

-and read the lab assignments before the lab...

As planned, week 43 will be devoted to laboratory exercises. There will be labs on (1) Radiation physics, (2) Radiobiology and (3) Electron spin resonance. You have to select two of these topics! The following time slots are available:

Tue 23rd: 9-12 (1), 13-16 (2)

Wed 24th: 9-12 (1), 13-16 (3)

The sharepoint “Gruppe og ukeoppgaver” has been slightly restructured. Please see “0 Fridays READ ME” to get more information about what is supposed to happen on Fridays! Now, problem set for week 1 is renamed to P1 etc. So next Friday (sep 21st) you will work with P3 and P4 (the latter problem set is coming soon). IMPORTANTLY, you also have home work for the 21st. Please see “Home work pt1” in the sharepoint.

As said during today's lecture, there is a sharepoint folder where supplementary material for the course is available. I have shared this folder with most of you, but those who were not present must send me an email. Also, there were a few that did not provide me with a readable email address today - send it to me!
