Dear all

Since very few chose to attend the lecture today by Petter Hurlen, we decided to postpone this until next week. This will take place in the time slot originally reserved for the seminar on Monday, November 14th 14.15-16.00.

Hope to see you there.

Kind regards,
Troels M?nsted

Dear all

I am just writing to convey two short messages.

First, the information for the next lecture is now updated on the course page, including a couple of interesting readings.

Second, as per request you can download the Kieny & Dovlo (2015) paper for the mandatory assignment directly here. There other text for the assignment is an online and openly accessible resource, but you can still access it here: https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/news-events/ebola-outbreak-uganda.

Kind regards,
Troels

Dear all

I apologize that I wasn't clear on this, but the seminar today is also cancelled for the very same reason as the lecture last week - the lecturer is sick and has not become well yet. Sorry for posting this late.

Kind regards,

Troels M?nsted

Dear all

As announced at the beginning of the course there will be one mandatory assignment for this course - please find the assignment through this link

The deadline is set for 11. November - a bit later than originally planned, but in this way the assignment will serve as a preparation for the exam.

I will present the assignment on the seminar today, October 24th - please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Troels

Dear all

The description of the seminar on October 24th has now been updated. In essence, please familiarize yourselves with the following case that we will discuss at the seminar: https://www.exemplars.health/emerging-topics/epidemic-preparedness-and-response/digital-health-tools/sri-lanka

At the seminar, the assignment for the obligatory assignment will also be introduced. The deadline for this will be slightly later than originally announced, but more information on that on Monday.

Dear all

As I mentioned on the last lecture, there is a change in the course schedule next week:

  • On Monday October 10 14.15-16.00 I will give a lecture on the topic '(Social?) determinants of health'. Here I will introduce the theory behind talking about social determinants of health, as well as we will analyze a case in order to discuss how we can represent and identify peoples' risk for developing diseases through data. Reading for this lecture can be found on the course page.
  • The activity on Friday October 14 (which was originally planned as a lecture) is cancelled, and the content here will be covered on the lecture mentioned above.

Kind regards,
Troels

Dear all

I hope that you have all had a good start on the semester and on the new education.

I have noted that not so many of you have attended the first two lectures on DIGHEL4350. I am therefore writing to - strongly - encourage you to follow the teaching actively and attend both lectures and seminars. We have a long list of interesting lecturers that will provide you with a necessary background understanding of the healthcare system, so we hope to see many more of you in the coming weeks.

Kind regards,
Troels M?nsted
