IN5050 - Dolphin PCI Express Resources & FAQ

 

A page for resources and frequently asked questions for the Dolphin machines. If you have any other questions, please use the Mattermost channel.

The following table gives an overview of the lab machines' status in the IFI lab. The lab machines are connected to a PCI Express switch. The setup contains two Intel x86_64 machines running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and four Jetson AGX Xavier Development kits running Linux 4 Tegra (L4T) 35.3.1, based on Ubuntu 20.04.

Remember that you might have to SSH into login.ifi.uio.no to access the login machine for IN5050 (roa.ifi.uio.no). Username and password have been provided to all groups:

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: There are some issues with the SISCI API and the PCI Express networks. How do I get in touch with Dolphin?

A: You can get in touch with Dolphin Support at simula-support@dolphinics.no

 

Q: Can groups share machines?

A: Yes, but use your group ID when generating the "segment ID." If many groups try to use the same segment ID, you will get a "segment busy" error.

 

Q: Can all machines talk to each other over PCI Express?

A: Yes. The machines are connected to a PCI Express switch

 

Q: How can we find the code examples Dolphin discussed in the lecture?

A: Check the /opt/DIS directory of the machine.
