Thank you for your submitted mid-term group and individual reports. Great that you were able to do this in time. Some of the reports are of high quality, others need to make a substantial effort during the last iteration. Please remember to give each other feedback in the peer review (deadline November 1). Asbj?rn will also provide feedback on all group reports by email to the group members.

Tomorrow - please pop in if you have questions about what, how etc of the delivery after module 2 of the course (we know that many of you are working with the ethics course - and possibly at the "transformative repair" exhibition in the library preparing).

Here are some clarifications about the deliveries - this Friday.

- You use the same documents - just update them (and store with a new version)

- Max number of pages for module 2 is also six pages, so in total 12 with both module 1 and two.  If you have more - use the option of enclosing an appendix.

- You are asked to answer all the three themes from Module 2

- Remember to write about the feedback you received after module 1; what you have done (or chosen to not do) with the feedback.

Happy writing

Asbj?rn and Jo

Hi,

IN5480 is today at 14:15 in Room Java.  Java is on the same floor as usual, that is the 2nd floor.

So the room (location) and time have been moved for today.

Or has it? Obviously, the two rooms are where they are, so it is the lecture that is moved to a "new" room, that is Java.

This has been an orientation with information that you might find useful in order to orient yourself (in time and space) for today's lecture.

Today, Tuesday, the AI lounge here at UiO has a session about machine learning; possibly relevant for some?

And tomorrow, there is a lecture here at IfI:...

Dear All,

Morten Goodwin will lecture this Thursday.

Note that he will give a machine learning assignment that is to be done in your project group; this will be handed in as an appendix to the midterm report

Welcome

Dear All,

Congratulations to all.  18 individual, and 5 groups "wonder documents" were handed in.  Now, we have started - and the rest is continuation;).

Hope all have sent and received feedback.  We can resolve things in class next time we meet if some has not received.

To give and receive feedback on a text that you hand in may contribute to learning;)

Each group is expected to give feedback to the next project on the list. That is, project 1 give feedback to project 2 etc, and the last project give feedback to project 1.

Each person is also expected to give feedback to one other individual assignment.  I suggest that we keep it simple, and follow the same order here; that you give feedback to the "next" on the list.  That is:  the first person in project 1 gives feedback to the second person in project 1, etc.

You can send the feedback on e-mail - or place it in your project folder.

There are no rules for providing or giving feedback.  However, one much-used approach is the "two star and a wish" - method.   Try to find a couple of things in the document that you appreciate, and say something about th...

Hi,

Remember to upload your first group assignment, the wonder document to your project folder.

For the individual assignment, please upload this to the project folder as well.

Remember not to forget that what you hand in is preliminary, unfinished, unpolished texts.  Nobody expects it to be perfect, but in-progress work.

Best

Jo

Hi,

Now, all the articles are listed for the three modules.  Note that we have some "mandatory" readings - that all are expected to read/work with.  The rest "optional/additional" is suggestions for further reading if you are interested and have the time;)

It is very smart to use some sort of reference system when writing academic texts, both for the individual reports, the group reports and the master thesis itself.  Many here at IfI choose Zotero for this.

A question:  If someone (a group or individuals) want to get going with managing references, it would be wonderful if you make a group library in Zotero - and share with the others.  We can talk about this next time we meet also.

Good weekend

The slides and the task assignment is posted in the calendar.

Please send a mail to Jo with information about your group (who, and possibly a name) by Tuesday (3dr September).  Then we will make some folders for you to upload documents.

The first session will be on Thursday this week, 22 august.

Please have a look at the 2018 edition of the course to get a grip on what this course is about.

Welcome.
