For those of you who are taking the repeated exam in MAT2440: The course MAT3440 is a continuation of MAT2440, but where control theory has been replaced by numerical methods. If you are taking the exam in MAT2440 then the syllabus is [Meiss, chapter 1-4] as well as chapter 3-4 of Terje Sund's lecture notes.
There will be office hours today (Tuesday 29 May) and on Tuesday 5 June from 14:15-16:00.
Auditorium 4 might be occupied today, so if it is, I will find a table somewhere on the first floor of Vilhelm Bjerknes' house.
The office hours on 5 June will be in VB Aud 4.
A suggested solution to exercise set 7 is now available on the "weekly exercises" page.

Feedback on your submission to the mandatory assignment should now be avaiable on Devilry.
For those of you that didn't pass, the new deadline is 15th of May, at 14:30. I have given you some suggestions on what needs to be improved to get a pass.
If any of you have any questions regarding the assignment, please send me an e-mail, and if you want a more thorough feedback on your submission, come see me in the group sessions on tuesdays.

Since there are no exercises for you to work on this week, today's exercise session is cancelled.
I have uploaded a new version of the lecture notes on numerical methods with a new chapter on Runge-Kutta methods. We will begin with RK methods next week.
The lecture on Friday 13. April has been canceled due to illness.

Exercise set 4 is now available on the "Weekly exercises" page. This set is a bit longer than previous ones and contains a programming exercise. Therefore, we will spend two weeks on this set in the group sessions.

Starting Friday 2 February, the lectures will be held in auditorium 4 in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus. The tutorials on Tuesdays will continue in auditorium 5.
Starting Monday 29 January, the lectures will be held on Mondays and Fridays instead of Tuesdays and Fridays, and the tutorial is shifted to Tuesdays. To avoid any misunderstandings, the lectures/tutorials for next week (22-26 Jan) will be held as previously announced. I apologize for the mess!
