I have fallen sick an unfortunately need to cancel today's lecture.

If you have any questions or things you would like to discuss then you can come to my office (room 1017 in Niels Henrik Abels hus) on Wednesday 1 June between 10:15 and 12:00. I also answer questions by e-mail and on Canvas.

Best regards,
Ulrik

Dear all,

Since Wednesday's lecture collides with the Abel lectures, I will only lecture from 11:15–12:00 on Wednesday (25 May).

Best regards,
Ulrik

Unfortunately there was an error in problem 5(c) in the mandatory assignment – the stability of fixed points had been switched around. The PDF has now been updated, with changes marked in red.

Ulrik

Dear all,

I am in the process of writing a set of lecture notes for this course. You can find these under "Syllabus/reading list in Leganto". The notes are far from finished, and will probably not be finished until after the end of the semester, but hopefully they can be useful as supplementary material. It also includes some extra problems, with solutions in the appendix.

I have also uploaded my notes on numerical methods. With time, these two sets of notes will be unified.

Best regards,
Ulrik

I have published some more code from the lectures under "Code from the lectures", in particular for visualising orbits and velocity fields.

Ulrik

In case there is any doubt: Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus has reopened and today's lecture will be in VB 4, as usual.

You will find an up-to-date and correct overview in the Schedule ("Timeplan").

Dear all,

Due to the latest changes in restrictions, I will start teaching in class on Wednesday 19 January. Lectures will be held in Auditorium 4 in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus. As previously stated, I will broadcast all lectures live on Zoom (see Canvas for the link), and publish recordings after each lecture. If you come to lecture, please try to keep a distance of 1 meter to others.

The lecture on Friday 21 January has been canceled – please see the Schedule for what to do instead.

Tutorials ("gruppetimer") will commence on Monday 24 January at 08:15–10:00.

I'm looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

Best regards,
Ulrik

The first two weeks of teaching will be done digitally. You will find the link to the Zoom meeting in Canvas. I will publish some videos in addition to the Zoom meetings.

After these first two weeks I hope that we will be able to meet physically again. Regardless of whether teaching will be physical or digital, I will continue broadcasting my lectures over Zoom throughout the semester.

Best regards,
Ulrik
