I¡¯m a Post-doctoral researcher at Sensor Systems group within BigInsight research centre. My research interests are in sensor data in real-world applications, particularly in the maritime sector. I work in close contact with Professor Ingrid Kristine Glad and so will be this project.

In collaboration with DNVGL on Autonomous and remotely-operated ships, I propose this project which aims to describe the behaviour of manned vessels at sea through statistical analysis of collision-avoidance manoeuvres from historical AIS data (huge, traffic information, all Norwegian waters). 

The four main objectives are: 
(1) detect near-collision situations, 
(2) determine when anti-collision manoeuvres start and end (change point detection), 
(3) estimate some well-defined manoeuvre characteristics, 
(4) and develop their statistical models.
