In February 2022, the University of Oslo launched the Life Science Growth House – a new in-house innovation unit for life sciences, health and technology.
The Growth House
- helps researchers and students to mature early-stage ideas
- has an open door for researchers and students including PhD students; leaders and administrative staff who support innovative researchers; and existing and new external partners
- provides low-threshold services with tailored counseling, seed funding, meeting places; for example innovation hangouts for academia and industry, mentor program, student internship and more
- will contribute to a stronger innovation culture and to more knowledge from research being put to use
- collaborates closely with departments at the University of Oslo and university hospitals, and with the technology transfer office, business clusters, incubators and industry in UiO’s innovation ecosystem
At this seminar, the Growth House communications adviser, PhD Norunn Torheim, will present the Growth House and the services that are available for PhD students.

About the seminar series
Once a month, dScience will invite you to join us for lunch, soft drinks and professional talks at the Science Library. In addition to these, we will serve lunch to PhD candidates in our lounge in Kristine Bonnevies hus every Thursday. Due to limited space (40 people), this will be first come, first served.
