The "twin transition" refers to two simultaneous movements: the green transition and the digital transition. The green transition is focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preserving natural resources, reversing environmental damage, and utilizing renewable energy sources. The digital transition is dedicated to creating value through digital representation using infrastructure, platforms, applications, and services that operate across professional, organizational, and industry lines.
While there is great potential with the twin transition, digitalization on its own will not entail a transition to sustainability. For the twin transition to realize its potential for synergy, it requires a multitude of innovations in business practices, social changes and policy interventions.
With this in mind, INTRANSIT and dScience will be hosting a workshop on September 24th, 2024 to explore potential enablers and barriers to the twin transition.
Program:
09:00 – 09:20 Introduction
The workshop will be introduced by Professor Morten D?hlen, Centre Leader dScience, and the author of The Guild's Insight Paper that shows how digital research contributes to a more efficient green transition, and Taran Thune, Director, INTRANSIT.
09:20 – 10:15 Panel Discussion
10:15 – 10:45 Break/Poster Presentations
10:45 – 11:45 Roundtable Discussion
