CEED – Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics

The Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED) is a Centre of Excellence dedicated to research of fundamental importance to the understanding of our planet.

The research embraces the dynamics of the plates, the origin of large scale volcanism, the evolution of climates and the abrupt demise of life forms. Numerical modeling is important for understanding Earth’s internal dynamics, the surfaces and internal dynamics of other planets, and modeling the stable mineral phases of Earth’s interior composition. Modeling teams include Deep Earth, Earth Modeling, Dynamic Earth, Earth Crisis, Earth and Beyond, and Earth Laboratory.
