Meet the student innovation associations at UiO.
Matchmaking between researchers and students and representatives from Nortura, Gentian, Aker BioMarine, LINK Medical, Bayer, Curida, ThermoFisher Scientific, Stim/ACD Pharma, Novartis and SINTEF that are members of our co-organiser The Life Science Cluster.

With this meeting place we want to inspire, give self-confidence and knowledge about innovation processes and facilitate collaboration that puts more research to use for the benefit of patients and society.

Internship for students 2023: Registration opened for companies

Internship students 2021

Companies that want to offer summer jobs through the internship programme supported by the Life Science Growth House, can now sign up to attend in 2023. We hope to offer as many students as possible a summer job through the programme. Companies of any size are welcome to fund an unlimited number of summer jobs. The Growth House covers 50 per cent of the salary of 20 positions in small and medium-sized companies. You apply for support when you register your company – first come, first served!

The aim of the internship programme is to introduce students to alternative career paths where they can utilise their knowledge and competence. The programme is run by student innovation associations at Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and students from the two faculties can attend the programme. The feedback from both students and companies that have attended the programme so far has been overwhelmingly positive.

Student entrepreneurship: Congratulations to Zimmer Digital with STUD-ENT funding!

Zimmer Digital is a VR simulation programme with the aim of reducing the gap between the classroom and the treatment room for medical students.

Zimmer Digital was the first project that received support from the Growth House autumn 2021 through seed funding, counselling from our innovation advisers and mentoring from an external business executive. 

Now the team of students from UiO and NTNU, led by medical student at UiO Mari Zimmermann, has been granted NOK 1 million as well as a NOK 30 000 mentoring package from the Innovation Norway student entrepreneurship programme STUD-ENT.

The student organisation Insj UiO assisted them in the application process.

Director of the Growth House Hilde Nebb was among the speakers, in addition to Christine Wergeland S?rbye, CEO of Oslo Science City and André Breg?rd, General Manager and VP of Novo Nordisk Norway. The panel consisted of Tone Tr?en (H), Alfred Bj?rlo (V), Idar Kreutzer, CEO of Finance Norway, Gunnar Bovim, chairman of Innovation Norway, Mariann Hornnes, director of the Directorate of e-health and Per Morten Sandset, deputy rector of innovation at UiO head of the HelseOmsorg21 council. LMI's chair Veronika Barrabes moderated the meeting.
