May 2021 marks the beginning of The Sustainability Lab’s Circular Energy project, a UiO:Energy-financed project which focusses on the role of digital product design, maintenance, and repair in energy conservation. The project will run from May 2021 to May 2023 and will be led by Professor Maja van der Velden, who is based at the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. The main focus of Circular Energy is to investigate digitalisation – asking what the unseen impacts of our increasing reliance on digitalisation are, and how society can minimise the waste a digital economy produces.
