The Opening Ceremony will take place at the University Aula (Karl Johans gate 47), surrounded by Edvard Munch’s magnificent murals. The Rector of the University of Oslo and other official representatives will welcome the ISS students. Musical entertainment will follow the speeches.
After the ceremony, the City of Oslo will host a reception at the City Hall, which is also the venue for the presentation of the Nobel Peace Prize each year.
We ask attendees to dress in formal attire for the festivities.
Good to know
You will not be able to join neither the Opening Ceremony in the University Aula nor the City Hall reception if you have not signed up in advance.
Be aware that there will be a security check, so please do not bring any large bags, backpacks or coats. Large bags/ backpacks will not be allowed into the Aula Hall, nor into the City Hall. There are no lockers for bags/ coats there.
As we are guests of the City of Oslo it is not possible for the International Summer School to extend the guest list to include others who are not officially connected with the ISS.
Photos will be taken during the arrangement. Please contact the organizer if you want to reserve yourself from being on any of published photos.
Transportation: Transportation is organized from R?nningen to the Oslo City Hall and back again.
Buses from R?nningen leave promptly and will not wait for latecomers.
