INTED and the concept of interdisciplinarity

In 2023, the Center for interdisciplinary education INTED received the status of Center for Excellence in Education. INTED works to ensure that students and staff gain interdisciplinary competence to participate, facilitate and lead interdisciplinary processes.

In this lecture, Professor Anders Malthe-S?renssen will present INTED and Professor Ella Maria Cosmovici Ids?e will facilitate a conversation discussing the concept of
interdisciplinarity.

Program:

12.15 – 12.30:  Presentation of INTED by Professor Anders Malthe-S?renssen

INTEDs goal is to become a hub for the research-based integration of interdisciplinary competence in education. We will do this by developing approaches and pedagogies and establish a research basis for them, develop a culture for interdisciplinary teaching and learning and disseminate the results. Professor Anders Malthe-S?renssen will present INTED and some of INTEDs activities.

12.30 – 13.00: Discussion of the concept of interdisciplinarity by Professor Ella Maria Cosmovici Ids?e

The terms multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary are increasingly used in the Norwegian and international literature, but are ambiguously defined and interchangeably used. Ella Ids?e will present and discuss together with participants the concept of interdisciplinarity and hopefully achieve a common understanding of the concept.
