About

I hold an MA in Ethnomusicology / Cultural Anthropology from the University of Athens (NKUA), with an additional background both in western classical music and in Greek traditional/folk music and dance.

I am passionate about investigating various aspects of traditional and popular music around the world as well as the interplay between music, dance and culture.

Current Research

My current work in the DjembeDance project is focused on transcription and analysis of songs of the project's corpus, under the scope of Computational Ethnomusicology, in a culturally informed way. Special emphasis is placed on rhythm and meter in relation to lyrics and dance. As a side task, I annotate and visualize segments of the dance pieces.
