This was intrudused by Zoom as deafult ON being set to OFF
Due to the large changes in the user experience in the latest clients. We have activated this function for users in the UiO account. The minimum legal version is 5.5.1 (WIN, Mac and Linux). Just above the oldest recomended version. Floor was raised 29th apr 2021
Older versions will be prompted to upgrade or use the web-client.
Users can enable end to end encryption for meetings, providing additional protection when needed.
File transfer have been turned on, this allows users to send and receive files in direct messages or group conversations. The files are being encrypted for transport.
Closed captioning is unlocked.
Allows host to turn on the ability to type closed captions or assign a participant/third party device to add closed captions
Associated domains with user management on the domain activated
Language interpretation turned on.
Associated domains turned on and pending verification by Zoom
Local phone numbers in Sweden and Denmark added to meeting invitations by request.
We have sent a feature-request to Zoom regarding this: we want the reporting to be via the UiO Zoom site owner and not directly to Zoom without notification to our admins.
We have turned on advanced chat encryption for the IM chat function in Zoom. This has some functional consequences, these are listed here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/207599823
We have disabled the function enabling SfB (Lync) clients to connect to our Zoom infrastructure. This is a security measure as testing have shown traffic were routed to US zoom servers. This is not in compliance with GDPR.
We have now globally turned off the setting "Join before host". The setting is unlocked so users who need this functionality can still use it (with caution!) if needed.
This configuration change is an anti Zoombombing- and security measure.
The following setting has been turned off in the integration between Zoom and Canvas:
Auto Populate Alternative Host
"Automatically populate the Instructors of a course as alternative host when create a new meeting."
It is now possible to enable the function Remote Control through the In Meeting settings.
