Remote Control

Zoom allows participants to request permission to remote control the shared screen in a meeting. This feature is not fully supported on Linux.

The person who creates the meeting needs to turn on Remote Control in settings before the meeting starts.

To use the Remote Control feature the participant that needs support will have to share their screen. Everything that is done through remote control will be visible to all participants, with the exception of dialog windows for elevating user permissions, which will only be visible for the participant sharing their screen. The remote control is also limited to what is shared either an entire screen or specific program windows.

Note

Who controls the machine is decided by who clicked the shared screen most recently. A failsafe method to gain back control on Windows is to sign out by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and choosing Sign out. On Mac you can turn off your machine after pressing CTRL+CMD+Q.
