Community +

Community+ created a comprehensive booklet for the City of Oslo with recommendations on making elderly housing that promotes social activity. They delivered insights under 9 categories. As a first step they focused on one site, Kampen Omsorg+, to understand how loneliness and housing interact.

The City of Oslo is taking over the management of this location in 2020 and expanding omsorg+ housing in the future to meet the needs of the growing population of older adults. Their recommendations are timely and relevant across multiple agencies involved in this type of housing offer. The students worked with The Agency for Planning and Building Services on this project.

Mari, Anne Sofie, Eric, and Ida introduced social dimensions to the city’s understanding of elderly housing through this project. Thanks for making Oslo a friendlier place for the elderly!
