Charging stations for electric cars

UiO has multiple charging stations for employees who drive electric cars.

Starting from June 26 2023, it is no longer free to charge electric cars at UiO. Charging hybrid cars is not allowed, only electric cars. It is prohibited to charge in outlets other than those mentioned on this page.

Charging spots at Blindern

  • 20 spots with Type 2 connectors in the parking lot between the Physics Building and the Pharmacy Building.
  • Four spots with Type 2 connectors in the parking lot outside Lucy Smith's house and Villa Eika (reserved spots).

Charging spots at Gaustad

  • Four spots with Type 2 connectors in the parking lot behind Gaustadalléen 30.

Charging spots in the city center

  • Two spots with Type 2 connectors at Frederiks gate 3.

How to charge your car

Vehicles must have a valid parking permit for UiO employees. You pay through the Apcoa app with tariff zone 9410. Parking at a charging spot costs 10 NOK per hour, regardless of whether the car is connected to the charging station.

We encourage everyone to move their car as soon as it's fully charged to make room for others who need to charge their car. The charging poles are marked with information about charging and price.

Due to electrical safety reasons, charging stations with regular power outlets will not be reopened.
