    The biodiversity in the Amazon is amazing. The number of plant and animal species is higher here than anywhere else on this planet. But the biodiversity is also at risk. The rainforests are logged for timber and burnt down to open areas for grazing cattle and soy plantations. Mining and huge hydropower projects further increase deforestation and degradation. This research cooperation will provide knowledge for better understanding, monitoring and management of the biodiversity in the Amazon rainforest.

  • Security in Internet Governance and Networks: Analysing the Law (SIGNAL) Feb. 22, 2016 1:14 PM

    SIGNAL is a project on the legal aspects of internet security hosted at the Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law ( NRCCL). SIGNAL examines changes in legal frameworks for internet security by focusing on established, new and proposed legal security requirements – at both international and national levels – directed at critical internet infrastructure (CII) and cloud computing.

  • Sustainable tax governance in developing countries through global tax transparency - DeSTaT June 25, 2012 1:18 PM

    This project will focus upon sustainable tax governance in developing countries as a means of increasing their tax revenue and prevent capital flight in particular to tax havens. The project will be carried out by seven partner institutions (see frame).

  • Robust regulation in the petroleum sector Oct. 5, 2010 2:22 PM

    The project addresses the challenges described under regulatory regimes in the HSE-program. The aim of the project is to develop knowledge that can be used to design robust regulation for the complex and changing field of the petroleum sector.
