28 January: The Faculty of Social Sciences reports that two international students have been confirmed infected with Covid-19. Both participated in outdoor activities during the student sponsorship week from 18-22. January, along with their sponsor group. The two have only attended digital teaching. They have not been on campus.

The infection detection team in the city district will follow up with those who are registered as close contacts. The two students have also notified their sponsor group via Teams about the infection.

26 January: A student at the Faculty of Social Sciences have been confirmed infected with Covid-19. The person in question used reading rooms at Blindern – in Eilert Sundt's house and Georg Sverdrup's house, respectively – on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January. The student has only received digital teaching.

The person in question also used the SV café Eilert spiseri and the coffee bar Georg during those last two days before UiO closed down to students.

The contact tracing team is now working to establish who has been seated near the student in question in the reading rooms at the relevant times. These have been contacted.

We also ask others who have used the reading rooms on the same days, or the cafes, to be particularly attentive with regard to possible symptoms – and to make sure that they are tested should symptoms occur, says Johan Løberg Tofte, Section Manager at the Unit for HSE and emergency preparedness at UiO.
