I am really looking forward to continuing as rector at the University of Oslo. It is an institution I am very fond of and proud to lead, says Rector Svein St?len.

The election platform for St?len and Gornitzka emphasises, among other things, openness, broader participation, and more simplification in everyday life.

I have a very skilled team joining me when embarking on implementing our election platform. This is vital, because we have great ambitions on behalf of UiO, says Rector Svein St?len.

Efforts to strengthen international cooperation in both research and education will be important for the new rectorate over the next four years.

The list of exciting tasks is long – there is a lot going on in knowledge policy nationally, internationally, and in the European arena. We are especially looking forward to continuing the work of further developing the collaboration with our six European partner universities in the Circle U. alliance, says future Pro-Rector, ?se Gornitzka.

St?len and Gornitzka had no counter-candidates, and were therefore elected after the University Board had considered the recommendation from the election board. The new rectorate team has been elected for the period 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2025.
