Information about knife incident at UiO

There was a knife incident in a building associated with UiO today. Two of our employees were injured. The police have the perpetrator under control.

– It is very sad and serious that we are experiencing this at UiO. Our thoughts go to everyone affected by the situation, says Rector Svein St?len.

The incident took place at the Department of Pharmacy in Gydas vei. The injured are cared for by health personnel. Other parties involved are also taken care of.

– The most important thing the university are doing now is to take care of those affected, employees and students. Oslo Municipality's crisis team is assisting. Employees and students who need to talk to someone will get an offer of doing so tomorrow, says St?len.  

The Occupational health services at UiO will meet with affected employees and students on Friday morning. Students who need further follow-up may contact SiO Health.
