- The start of studies is an exciting time for us and an important time for new students: Throughout the start of studies week students will get to know each other, the university, and life as a student. 850 buddies are ready to welcome and guide the new students. We welcome you to the start of studies, says rector Svein St?len.
On Monday afternoon, the welcome ceremony was held at the Universitetsplassen on Karl Johan. The programme for the week is packed and there will be events across campus. At Frederikkeplassen on Blindern campus, a large tent has been constructed, which will house many events throughout the week, like concerts, quizzes, and live shows with Radio Nova and the podcast Abels t?rn.
The University of Oslo has since 1811 been a vital arena for development in Norway and a place where knowledge grows and value is generated. We are the oldest and highest-ranked university in the country.
