The success from last year will be repeated when The Aula Series once more are hosts for a guest performance from the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. This time solo cellist Ernst Simon Glaser curated the program and put together a number of works that mean a lot to him, in addition to resonate well with their theme of the season in multiple ways.

From Gustav Mahler's dark, beautiful movement for piano quartet via Britten's cello sonata to Shostakovich's majestic piano quintet, we get a gripping and large program when Glaser brings a few good KORK colleagues and their own artistic director on stage.

Program

  • Gustav Mahler (1860—1911): Piano quartet in a minor (1876)
  • Benjamin Britten (1913—1976): Sonata for cello and piano, op. 65

  • Dmitrij Sjostakovitsj (1906—1975): Piano quintet in g minor, op. 57
