Selma French released her debut album "Changes like the weather in the mountain" last year. The album was hailed as one of the best albums of 2022, and French as one of the most exciting artists to watch in 2023.

Her music reflects an admiration for Norwegian and English folk music, where modern messages are wrapped up Wurlitzers, traditional fiddle and occasional high-pitched choruses. The music moves from open landscapes reminiscent of large mountains to secluded spaces, and centers around depictions of simplicity and vulnerability.

Her band includes some of Norway's leading improv musicians: Christian Winther (electric guitar), Andreas Winther (drums), Anna Ueland (synth) and Erik Sollid (fiddle).

Last year, French played at large Norwegian festivals such as ?yafestivalen, By:Larm, VillVillVest, Moldejazz and Tr?nafestivalen, and in November, she played support for Sondre Lerche on his release tour in Norway.

Now she is coming to the University Aula to give an acoustic concert in a space with world-renowned acoustics, particularly well-suited for music. Welcome to a concert experience quite out of the ordinary!

The concert is produced in collaboration between the concert association Betong and the University of Oslo.
