Key information

  • Renting period: Minimum 2 months - maximum 1 year; the contractual rent month is fixed from the first to the last day of the month
  • Who can apply: International researchers from abroad. Due to limited amount of housing, only researchers applying from abroad will be considered for housing.
  • Moving in date: 5th work day of the month, unless otherwise specified in the offer.
  • Moving out date: By the last day of the month
  • Reservation and cancellation: Reservations of apartments that have been confirmed by the Researcher Housing Office are binding. Cancellations must be made in writing at the latest three month prior to the commencement of the contract period.
  • Number of units: 44
  • Types: Studio flats, one and two bedroom apartments
  • Standard: Medium - high
  • Rent: Includes electricity and Wi-Fi. Rent is reduced the first month unless we offer an earlier moving in-date than the 5th working day of the month (after 15:00). Tenants do not pay a deposit as the department act as their guarantor.
  • Location: All apartments are either located in the immediate vicinity of Blindern campus or have good public transportation connections to Blindern.
  • Facilities: All apartments are fully furnished and equipped with furniture, bedlinen, towels, service, cutlery, and kitchen utensils, but as a rule not with a TV. All apartments either have their own washing machine or access to a common laundry room. All apartments are equipped with a dish washer.
  • Restrictions: All apartments are non-smoking areas. No animals are allowed.
  • Application process: Applications for University housing must be made by the host department on behalf of the interested researcher.
  • Assignment priority: In the larger apartments, international researchers with children and couples are given priority.
