Dear colleagues and students,

These are busy days throughout the Faculty of Medicine.
In the coming weeks, several of the faculty administration's sections will perform an internal relocation process between floors in Sogn Arena. Administrative procedures may therefore be extended for the next couple of weeks. We ask for your understanding and patience.

Follow-up of the national budget

The national budget did not come as much of a surprise to us, since it was already known that the new study places for the professional study programme in medicine in this round were earmarked for S?rlandet for UiO, Gj?vik for NTNU and Stavanger for UiB respectively. As you know, we had already started up UiO Campus South before we received this allocation. Now we will gradually increase the number of students at UiO Campus South, at the same time as we will continue to develop yet another decentralised UiO campus.

Students' mental health

We are very concerned that our students should have a very good educational provision with us. We are closely following the discussions about mental health among Norwegian students in general and the #legerm?leve action in particular.  We therefore arranged an open meeting for all our students on 18 October. The title was “Livsmestring for medisinstudenter” (life mastery for medical students). We received a lot of good feedback that we will take with us further, and we hope this can be the start of an increased focus on these issues throughout our faculty.

Kind regards, Hanne

We take students' mental health seriously. Today, the faculty management met committed medical students to talk about coping with life during and after their studies.
