John Richardson is professor and chair of musicology at the University of Turku in Finland. He has published widely in the fields of popular music, audiovisual aesthetics, and music in the Nordic region. His published work includes the monograph, An Eye for Music: Popular Music and the Audiovisual Surreal (Oxford University Press, 2011); and the article collections, The Oxford Handbook of New Audiovisual Aesthetics (eds. John Richardson, Claudia Gorbman & Carol Vernallis, 2013) and The Oxford Handbook of Sound and Image in Digital Media (eds. Carol Vernallis, Amy Herzog & John Richardson, 2013).
