Main thematic tracks

UiO:Democracy aims to establish a collective ownership to research on democracy. The following thematic tracks will be explored through interdisciplinary research and cooperation:

  • Democracy as a form of governance and the institutions of democracy
  • Citizens, diversity, and inequality

 

  • The role and function of knowledge
  • Democracy and crisis management
  • Democracy in everyday life

In addition to these thematic tracks, UiO:Democracy has three cross-cutting dimensions: sustainability, globalization, and digitalization. This is described in UiO:Democracy’s Foundational document (PDF)
