Where to create an instrument?
Click the followings to get to where you can create a new instrument.
- "ADMIN PANEL", at the bottom of the navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- "INSTRUMENTS" on the navigation menu.
- "Instruments List" right under "INSTRUMENTS".
- Blue "+" icon at the upper right corner.
There choose one way to create an instrument from the following three alternatives:
- "CREATE AN INSTRUMENT BY CLONING AN EXISTING ONE"
- "CREATE AN INSTRUMENT FROM TEMPLATE"
- "CREATE AN INSTRUMENT FROM SCRATCH"
If this is the first instrument that you create, then choose "CREATE AN INSTRUMENT FROM SCRATCH". ?
You will find a field "Instrument Availability" in the editing page, but the value given here is simply for displaying purpose; namely, its availability setting should be configured in a later process. Therefore, to start with, choose "Freely bookable".
Register an instrument
After clicking "CREATE AN INSTRUMENT FROM SCRATCH", please do the followings:
- Fill in at least the following fields:
- NAME: Instrument's name in the form of [maker - model - function - "internal nickname"/numbering]. Please note that the name needs to be unique across UiO.
- CORE: Choose your "core" from the dropdown list.
- Click "Submit" button at the bottom.
Now the instrument is registered in the system and can be edited for further settings.
