UiO uses two-factor authentication for SSH login from outside UiO for login.uio.no. login.uio.no points to login-2fa-azure.uio.no.
What is SSH?
SSH (Secure SHell) is a protocol for secure communication between two machines, based on encryption of information.
- You can contact both servers and workstations.
- The program is available for Linux, Mac and Windows.
- With SSH, you can, among other things, get hold of the files on your home area.
Start using
Everyone at UiO can use SSH, but for most people we recommend using Remote Desktop or UiO Programkiosk to connect to office computers and the like.
If you're unsure about using SSH, you probably shouldn't.
