What is Panopto?
- Software to record, edit, and publish video and allow the students to watch and interact with the video in new ways.
- Made easy to use, even for those without experience in the field.
- May be used from the office or from home.
- Panopto is a separate video management system, which stores and processes video in the cloud.
- Panopto has been set up mainly for use together with the Canvas LMS for the autumn semester 2022. Panopto is integrated with Canvas, so that a room in Canvas can be connected to a video folder in Panopto. The video folder can be added to the navigation menu in Canvas, and access permissions for students and teachers are handled automatically.
- All UiO employees have access to store video in Panopto in a personal folder (My Folder). This works independently of Canvas. This can be a good solution for recording video and simple editing, but it is inconvenient to share video with selected groups of users (suitable folder structure and access groups are not yet available).
