The query you type into this field will be parsed in exactly the same way as a simple search.
with the exact phrase A phrase that should be included. Quotation marks are not necessary
with at least one of the words Words that may be included in the result pages, but don't need to be.
without the words Words that should not be included in the result pages. This field cannot be used alone (you will get the message "no results found" in this case). It should be used together with one or more of the other fields.
Search only within

"UiO Web Pages" are public information published by units and departments (mainly official web pages at UiO).

"Personal Homepages" are personal information published by students or employees (everything located under the Internet address folk.uio.no).

"Association Web Pages" are web pages published by student and employee associations (everything located under the Internet address foreninger.uio.no).

Pages with URL matching: If you type part of a URL into this field, e.g. "http://www.admin.uio.no/", your search will be limited to pages within the "http://www.admin.uio.no/" domain. If you type studies into this field, all pages with studies as part of the URL will match.

A URL is an Internet address, e.g. http://www.uio.no/forskning/moet_forskningen.html.
Pages with link to: Type a URL (an Internet address) or parts of a URL. This will match all the pages containing a link to the entered URL.

Local and global searches: If you started your search from a page using a local search, like an association, a faculty etc.,  two radio buttons will be available, one for continuing your adapted search, and another for expanding your search to include all UiO sites (marked as "whole UiO").
