Fulbright

The U.S.-Norway Fulbright Foundation for Educational Exchange has a scholarship program for graduate students from U.S. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program also offers English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) awards.

How to apply

Students interested in studying at the University of Oslo (UiO) with a Fulbright scholarship, either as an exchange student or as a full degree student, should contact a professor or faculty directly to obtain a letter of invitation before they apply for the scholarship and admission.

Students who wish to enrol in a full degree programme with the Fulbright scholarship need to apply to the programme within the given deadlines in addition to applying for the Fulbright grant. See the list of study programmes offered in English.

NB! Fulbright students admitted to a full degree programme at UiO are exempted from paying tuition fees. For more information please see here.

The U.S. - Norway Fulbright Foundation will notify the Educational Quality Office at the University of Oslo about which candidates are offered the scholarship. These students will be registered at UiO as bilateral students.

Courses in English

Fulbright students at the University of Oslo may follow most courses at master and Ph.D. level.

Exchange students at UiO may take courses across faculties and levels, depending on their academic background and the availability of the courses.

The course descriptions give detailed information about each course; course content, syllabus, examination form, lecture and exam dates, etc. The list will be fully updated with details in late November for courses in spring and late May for courses in autumn.
