Bilateral agreements at faculty level

The faculties at the University of Oslo have more than 100 bilateral agreements with institutions of higher education around the world. There are usually no grants associated with these agreements, but they offer many exciting possibilities for exchange.

Who can apply?

  • You must be a degree student at UiO.
  • You must have completed 60 ECTS credits before the exchange semester.
  • Some agreements may have additional requirements related to field of study, level of study, grade average or language proficiency. Check the agreement in question, or contact your student adviser.

Bilateral agreements

Bilateral agreements are exchange agreements between faculties or institutes at UiO and their counterparts at institutions for higher education abroad. Bilateral agreements are not part of grant programmes such as Nordlys, Nordplus and Erasmus+.

When you exchange through a bilateral agreement you can spend 3-12 months at a partner institution as part of your degree at UiO.

Your exchange options depend on the agreements at your faculty or institute.
