Sustainability and democracy are crucial civic values, but their relationship is not without challenges. This Honours Certificate is a unique opportunity to learn to how to use corpora and engage in collaborative analysis and debate with students from different countries.

This certificate aims to develop collaborative, research-informed educational resources that support students working in a range of European languages. It seeks to hone students’ skills in critical reflection and complexity thinking, with a particular focus on the negotiation of key concepts underpinning shared civic values in various and often competing discourses on democracy and sustainability.

The certificate incorporates blended-learning seminars and face-to-face student driven datathons.

  • The first module will be taught in a series of eight blended-learning seminars held simultaneously at the five different participating institutions.
  • The second module will involve a series of four blended-learning seminars, followed by a face to face datathon held at each partner university. This datathon will take place over three days in April 2025.
