Why do you study Economics?

Economics is about decision making. I believe with knowledge of Economics, we are able to evaluate our choices better than before. More importantly, in light of global issues such as terrorism, trade disputes between countries, and the continuous depletion of natural resources, economists are needed more than ever before in searching for a solution That is why I study Economics.

Why did you apply for the master's programme in Economics?

I applied for the master's degree in Economics at UiO because we have some of the most respected scholars in different fields of study. Moreover, affiliated research centres like the ESOP - Centre for the Study of Equality, Social Organization, and Performance, and OFS - Oslo Fiscal Studies offer an excellent research environment to graduate students. I reckon this is especially important for candidates who want to pursue a career in academia.

What is the best thing about being an international master student at the University of Oslo?

People at UiO are liberal and willing to accept foreign cultures. It is never easy for international students to settle in a place where every bit of your life is different from before. The buddy scheme offered by the faculty was really helpful and has given me opportunities to connect with fellow classmates. In other words, you are never alone!
