Why choose this programme option?

Digital signal processing is central in a lot of the technology that surrounds us in everyday life, like mobile phones, TV and radio. Signal processing and imaging have applications within different fields such as medical ultrasound and sonars.

As a student on this programme option you will acquire advanced knowledge regarding digital signal processing, image formation and image analysis. You will learn to understand the physical problem areas regarding sound and images, and the mathematical models that describe the processes. You will obtain a sound understanding of how sensor data is represented and processed in a computer.

During the master's programme you will plan and carry out simulation studies, and you will use advanced scientific software to simulate real physical processes. You will also learn to verify the validity of simulated data.
