Applicants to the programme are encouraged to submit a motivation letter and provide information on prior relevant work experience which counts into the final selection score.
Fieldwork and research projects
You will spend one full semester doing fieldwork either in Norway or abroad where you will address various topics of community health. You can also use already collected data such as those from previous and ongoing research projects, routinely collected surveillance data or national registry, to write your thesis.
Academic staff with solid experience in global health research are responsible for the program courses. They will prepare you to do your own research.

Multidisciplinary education

Honours certificate
Are you academically ambitious? It is possible to supplement your master's degree with an Honours certificate worth 20 credits. You take the certificate concurrently with the master's programme.

For the Honors certificate in Education for Sustainable Health (master's supplement) the application deadline is 1 November.

The Health Sector needs people educated within the field of International Community Health to meet the global disease challenges and ensure the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We aim to prepare students to participate in community-based health promotion and disease prevention research and intervention.
