To do's at the beginning of the semester

  •  From 13-15 August, you will attend the Introductory week for master's students.
    • On the first day, there is a mandatory orientation meeting with your academic department, where you will receive important information about your program and meet your buddy group. Wednesday and Thursday's program is for all new master's students at the department.
  • 15 August is deadline for choosing courses.
    • Important! You don't need to do anything before the orientation meeting, but it's recommended to look through recommended courses in advance. Read more about selecting courses below.

Important dates

Selecting courses

The study program does not have any mandatory courses. You can select elective courses according to your interests. To ease the choice of courses we have compiled typical combinations into specializations. You can find the four specializations and the according courses here. Very important: these course combinations are just recommendations; you can also choose your own individual curriculum. However, a minimum of 30 credit point worth courses must be selected from the "core courses" list of the information security program. You can select further courses from the list of all informatics courses.

The most urgent issue is selecting courses for the autumn semester.

During your master thesis you will work in close cooperation with a research group from which you will receive supervision for your thesis. This master program is a collaboration between the Department of Informatics and the Institute of Technology Systems. You can get supervision from these research groups:

Social activities

There will also be social events throughout the orientation week, so you can get to know your fellow students and research groups better.

The events will be published here closer to the start of the semester.
