Do you want to be part of the Law Faculty’s team for the Telders International Moot court competition 2020?

The Faculty of Law is looking for students to participate in the Telders international moot court competition 2020. Telders is one of the most prestigious moot court competitions in the world and offers law students the opportunity to compete against students from all over Europe, defending parties to a fictitious international law dispute between two states.

The final rounds of the competition takes place in The Hague and the final is held at the Peace Palace, which houses the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The Law Faculty covers expenses for travel to The Hague and participants may be rewarded with credits (studiepoeng).

Participation in the competition is a unique opportunity to gain international experience, meet other students, improve your writing and presentation skills, while at the same time earning credits.

We accept applications from all law students at the Faculty. We have no absolute requirements as to who might participate in the team. It will be organized an audition for selection of applicants.

The team will consist of four student participants and be guided throughout the process by coaches who will assist in the preparation of written materials and travel with the team to the Hague for the finals.

Participants must expect to work regularly with preparations from October 2019 through to the final in May 2020. Case materials are published in October 2019 and the finals will be held in The Hague in May 2020. You are expected to submit written memorials in February 2020.

If you find this interesting, please send a short application (300 words) where you explain why you want to participate. A brief CV may be attached to the application.

Applications may be sent to Research Fellow J?rgen Skjold j.s.skjold@jus.uio

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 11th September.
