NORINT0106M – Introduction to Norwegian 2

Course content

The course builds on NORINT0105M and is an advanced introductory course in the Norwegian language for international students at UiO (University of Oslo). Students follow the online course?(Introduction to Norwegian 2)? for four weeks, and then partake in four on-campus sessions. In addition to learning Norwegian language, the students will become acquainted with student life/daily life at University of Oslo.?

Learning outcome

Upon completing the course, you will be able to:

  • Express yourself understandably on familiar topics, both in writing and speaking
  • Understand spoken Norwegian on familiar topics when the conversation partner speaks clearly and slowly
  • understand written Norwegian on familiar topics
  • master basic Norwegian morphology and syntax
  • master basic Norwegian pronunciation

The final grade reflects the extent to which the learning objectives are achieved.

Overlapping courses

Teaching

Part 1 (online self-study): The online course?"Introduction to Norwegian 2"?lasts fours weeks and is equivalent to 30 hours of teaching.?Students are granted access to the online course on the first day of the course.We strongly recommend that a minimum of 75% of the activities in "Introduction to Norwegian" are completed before on-campus teaching begins.

Part 2 (campus gatherings): Seminar instruction. 12 hours of teaching spread over two weeks. Three teaching hours per session, twice a week.

Examination

A digital school exam of two hours that tests in relation to learning objectives.

In preparation for the exam, you can practice using a demonstration exam in Inspera.

In the demonstration exam you will find an earlier assignment that is used for the exam, as well as the answers.

Examination support material

No examination support material is allowed.

Language of examination

The examination text is given in Norwegian. You may submit your response in Norwegian only.

Grading scale

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
