Learning outcome
After completion of the course, the students will have gained the following knowledge, skills and general competences:
Knowledge
The candidate will gain:
- knowledge in the substantive and procedural law, as well as legal methodology of the subject area of the moot court competition
- knowledge on the ethical challenges of lawyers in the society by representing a case on behalf of a two opposing (fictional) parties to a dispute
Skills
The candidate will be able to:
- argue in writing and orally for a legal position in a clear and precise manner (in English)
- research and identify legal problems in a complex case
- deal with concrete legal questions in a new area of law
- contribute to the drafting of legal submissions of lawyers
General competence
The candidate will gain the competence to
- to use legal knowledge and skills independently
- to understand the role of lawyers in classic dispute resolution situations
- to cooperate in a team with other lawyers on a legal question
- to interact in an international environment with lawyers and law students from around Europe or around the world
- convey legal reasoning to other lawyers
