AST5330 – Satsvis og sekvensiell estimering

Course content

Mathematical presentation of the theory of batch and sequential estimation, inter alia the method of least squares and Kalmann filtration. The focus will be on special techniques, partitioning and factorization, which are used to solve large and complex systems.

Learning outcome

The course will provide you with background to use batch estimation and sequential estimation in masters’ theses and doctorate theses within the field of space geodesy.

Prerequisites

Formal prerequisite knowledge

Bachelor degree of the Fysikk, astronomi og meteorologi (bachelor's) programme or comparable.

Recommended previous knowledge

AST4230 and AST5230.

Teaching

2 hours of lectures/tutorials each week.

Examination

A final oral examination. Compulsory home exercises may be given. Passed and failed.
